About Us

Andrea Richards

Andrea, Co-Founder and Partner of A&T Investigation Consultancy is a former Detective Sergeant with a distinguished 30-year career in policing, primarily focused on crime investigation. Throughout her tenure, she addressed numerous serious offences and worked on some of the most challenging cases. Andrea led the Kent Police Cold Case Investigation team for 12 years prior to her retirement from active police service. Her experience includes serving in both Senior and Deputy Investigating Officer roles, and she is qualified as a National Review Officer. In her supervisory capacity, Andrea has contributed to the resolution of several high-profile cold case murder and rape investigations, including   R v David Fuller, R v Andrew Griggs, and R v Colin Ash-Smith. She has received multiple commendations from judges, as well as a special Chief Constable’s award, recognising her significant contributions to cold case investigations. Additionally, she has media experience and has appeared in various True Crime documentaries.

Tara Melton

Tara, Co-Founder and Partner of A&T Investigation Consultancy, brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as a Detective Constable with Kent Police, where she dedicated the majority of her 30-year career. For over 15 years, she specialised in the investigation of serious criminal offences, including murder, rape, and child exploitation. In her capacities as both case officer and disclosure officer, she exhibited remarkable diligence, which led to numerous successful prosecutions and garnered commendations from judges, as well as certificates of merit from the police force. Tara's areas of expertise encompass serious and organised crime, major crime investigation, and intelligence. She is also a skilled advanced suspect interviewer, having dealt with some of the most serious of offenders. Among the notable cases she has case managed and interviewed on are R v Lee Vernon, R v Foster Christian, and R v Mark Terry & Others.
